Gatka is a martial art from Northwest India. It is a science of self-defense, intended to harmonize body, mind and spirit, in strength and grace. Gatka relates to the female aspect within us; its dance-like flowing movements are accompanied by upbeat devotional music. Balance, rhythm, breathing and meditation are trained and coordination is enhanced. Right-handers are trained with their left-hand and vice versa, calibrating and balancing both hemispheres of the brain.
